On May 11th the club planned and held an activity at the field honoring local veterans. It started out as ‘Veteran Recognition Day’. The idea was to bring veterans to the field for a day of flying and eats. Erick Striepeke contacted Danny Bravo about the idea. The two of them set out and contacted several local veteran organizations about our activity hoping to get a good turnout. As it turned out we ended up including and honoring our own Corona RC Club veterans that day as well. Our hats are off to them all!

Corona RC Club is now apart of the vast machine that is social networking. Specifically Twitter and Facebook. Why? You ask. Communication with each other and other local clubs is the answer. Make sure you log on and like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/coronarcclub. You can follow us on twitter @coronarcclub. The idea of both of these mediums is to put up to date info about the field for your benefit. For example a couple of weeks ago the field was closed because of a fatal car accident. This was "tweeted" and posted on the website. So if you had been following us and received this tweet you could have saved a trip for yourself. You do not need to have a smartphone to receive tweets, you can go to www.twitter.com and have the CRCC tweet sent to your phone as a text message. If you are interested in being involved in sending tweets out on a regular basis and are at the field often, send me an email and I will get you set up to be a part of the crcc twitter info base.

The Corona R/C Club website has many features available to all its users. Some of the features might seem complicated or too difficult to master. I composed these online tutorials in the hope that it will remove some of the mystery of the site and how to use all the features that are available to you.
In this multipart series of videos, I prepared a simple demonstration on how to achieve certain tasks. I advise you to view these videos in full screen mode in order to see some of the finer detail. If you have any questions or comments, please send them here.

With the relaunch of the Corona R/C Club website, some teething pains have been revealed. I thought it might be helpful to everyone is a Frequently Asked Questions section was set up to give instruction on how to utilize some of the many new features that are offered on the website.
If you have a question that you think should be on this FAQ and currently isn't addressed, please send in your question(s). There is a "Ask a new question" option in the FAQ section.
As always, this is a work in progress, so I would love to hear some feedback if you found this helpful or if certain subjects were not explained very well.
