Combat is coming next weekend, finally!.

17 pilots have pre-registered for the Coachella event, which will be the first event of the year after our rain out.  Looks like a lot of guys are pretty anxious for some action.

Forecast looks good for Saturdays competition, so bring it on Troy Boy.

Partly cloudy in the morning...becoming mostly cloudy. Slight chance of rain. Highs 66 to 71. Light winds. Chance of measurable precipitation 20 percent.

George, Troy, Mike and Terry, I'll see ya there.

We had another great event.  The weather was perfect with some wind coming up for the last few rounds.

Watch the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI1eGzjyxKE

We had 26 registered pilots, 16 flew SSC and 10 flew Open B.  We had a lot of new guys and they came from many places.

We had representation from quite a few more clubs this time;  Coachella Valley RC Club, Pomona Valley Model Airplane Club, Victorville Valley RC Flyers, Menifee Valley Flyers, Temecula Valley Flyers, Corona R/C Club, Exeter Thunderhawks, Palomar RC Flyers and a few others that I didn't get.

The Corona guy's competed well.  We didn't come home with any trophies, but George, Mike and Troy did a good job for their first events and most importantly we all had fun.

Terry Yates from Victorville had a pretty good day.  He took 3rd in SSC and a respectable 5th in Open B.

Unoffical places:

Open B
1. Russ Donnelly - Fontana
2. Chris Erwin - Exeter
3. Larry Mason - Menifee
4. David Drowns
5. Terry Yates
6. Todd Melton

SSC
1. Todd Melton - Palomar
2. David Drowns - Palomar
3. Terry Yates - Victorville
4. James Schell
5. Chris Erwin
6. Jason Erwin

Wow! What a great day.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this such a memorable event. I didn't know what to expect but I have to tell you, I never met a better bunch of guys. I can't wait for the next one.

Thanks Danny for a really great video. You really captured the day. Thanks for all the encouragement. I hoped for beginners luck and got a big dose of it. Sorry for your early loss of plane. That shows why the regular guys bring so many planes. Cheesy

Blessings, Terry
