Riverside Airport - 6951 Flight Road - Riverside, CA 92504
We are proud to announce that the Corona R/C Club has been invited to perform again during this year’s Riverside airshow. In order to ensure that we have another successful club event, we need your participation.
All club members are encouraged to bring airplanes for static display. We’ll also need help manning our booth selling raffle tickets and talking to interested people about our club.
Nitro Planes has generously donated an RTF trainer airplane for our raffle prize.
Final arraignments are being worked out for our flight demonstration. If you are interested in flying let me know and we’ll try our best to accommodate as many pilots as possible.
If you are bringing a plane for display, it is recommended that you arrive between 7:00 - 7:30 am. Drive to the airport entrance and inform the staff that you are with the Corona R/C Club and need to drop off your plane. You will be allowed to drive into the airport directly to our booth.
Keep in mind that our events throughout the year provide opportunities for the club to grow our membership and generate the funds necessary to keep making improvements. We are off to a very good start this year but the club continues to rely on each members support in order to be successful.
Thank you,

The BATTLE is on!
The AccuWeather forecast is looking good for Saturday
See you all there!
R/C combat is an exciting fast paced competitive sport. The sky is filled with fast moving planes in swirling dogfights and high speed pursuits. Cut streamers fill the air and the ace’s planes are draped with opponent’s streamers as they hunt down their next target.
Typically, a combat event consists of four rounds with six or more planes in the air at the same time. Each plane tows a 30’ crepe paper streamer. At the start of the round, the pilots have 90 seconds to get their planes in the air and in the combat “box”. When “Start Combat” is called the pilots have 5-minutes to cut as many streamers as they can, all the while protecting their own streamers, in an exhibition of defensive and offensive piloting skills.
Mid air collisions, although not the goal, do happen and are usually pretty spectacular. Most combat planes are made from a tough plastic called "Coroplast" and are designed to take a lot of abuse. Others are made from aluminum or wood rails with foam core wings which are also pretty tough.
Watch combat action videos to get a good idea of what to expect: http://www.vimeo.com/user2533985/videos and be sure to come on out to the first West Coast Combat event of the year and the first event hosted by the Corona R/C Club.
If time permits, we are planning to go as a group to the Chino Planes of Fame Air Museum. We will have to leave the field by 2:30 PM which will allow for us a two hour tour.
Group prices are 10 or more: Adults - $8.00 Children (5-11) - $3.00
Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to all that supported us.
